Faith Formation Coordinator
My name is Karen Stolz, and I will have the privilege this year of teaching Religion, preparing children for their sacraments, and helping provide faith formation resources for classrooms. Originally from the Gulf Coast of Texas, I moved to Wyoming in 2003, after completing my Bachelor of Science in Education, with concentrations in Language Arts and Mathematics at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. I have had the pleasure of teaching at St. Mary’s for eighteen years. During that time, I have taught English/Language Arts, Reading, Math, Social Studies, and a lot of Religion at every grade level from Kindergarten through high school.
Learning about the Catholic faith and sharing that faith with others has become my passion. I find that most of my personal reading these days involves theology or spiritual reading because I truly enjoy learning about God. I am currently completing a catechetical program through a Diocese of Cheyenne partnership with the University of Dayton. My husband and I have been active members of St. Mary’s Cathedral for many years, where he is the director of music ministry, and I cantor and play the oboe. We have a little girl who has loved attending St. Mary’s for the past two years and looks forward to many years to come.
