Spanish
Linda Lipowski studied Spanish abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico while attending Bethel College in North Newton. The intense language program was offered by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. She fell in love with the language and culture and after graduating from college returned to live and teach English. She also expanded her language skills. She teaches Spanish the same way she was taught it. The emphasis is on language acquisition and communication through TPR (total physical response) and game playing. The curriculum follows the guidelines of the Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and touches on reading, writing, speaking, and oral comprehension skills.
Technology
In addition to Spanish, Mrs. Lipowski also teaches computers and robotics to Kindergarten through 6th grade students. The computer curriculum follows the CSTA guidelines. Sudents are taught keyboarding and document skills, robotics, programming, and other relevant topics as they come up. Previously, Mrs Lipowski worked in the technology field for 15 years as a computer programmer and web designer.
