Third grade is big transition year for our students. We learn curisive, multiplication, division, and move from learning to read to reading to learn. At St. Mary's every student has their own computer and access to Ipads. We use Google Accounts to provide each student with their own digital portfolio that will travel with them as they porgress through each grade. Technology is used in the classroom everyday. Our students have one hour of art a week, computer class once a week, physical education 3 times a week and music 2 times a week.
Seesaw App for parent communication: Seesaw allows parents access to all projects, test, pictures from the classroom. Each child has their own code and private access. This allows parents the ability to see the actually test or project their child turned in and they are able to add comments or questions to post that only they and the teacher can see.
Mathletics: Our students use Mathletics in the classroom. This is the number one website for math in the United States. It is used internationally and is an adaptive site that moves at each students pace.
Spelling City: I post each week's spelling words on this site. Students may access it at home or at school. My website is: www.spellingcity.com/brady2015/
Scholastic Book Club:
Accelerated Reader: Students at each grade level have AR goals and take AR tests. We use AR 360 in the classroom to assign nonfiction articles for students to enhance their reading skills.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Education from Oregon State University. I recieved my teacher certification through the University of West Florida. Prior to coming to St. Mary's, I spent three years working as a substitute teacher in classrooms from preK to 12th grade in both public and private schools in North Dakota. I also worked as a Catholic Coordinator and Religious Education Coordinator at the base chapel of Minot Air Force Base.
Why choose St. Mary's? St. Mary's is a Christ centered school that truly teaches the Catholic faith to all of its students. As a mother of four children, I have experienced public schools, home schooling, and international schools but nothing has given my children better moral, value driven education than Catholic Schools. I find nothing is more rewarding than helping a child learn and achieve to their fullest potential.
